Accomodation
If you choose to live in College accommodation for your first year, you will most likely be living in the wonderful Holywell Annexe, our beautiful Graduate Satellite Accommodation — 10 minutes from Merton main site, 3 minutes from the Old Bodleian Library, and 7 minutes from Tesco!
However, Merton offers a range of accommodation options and many students are able to live in College residences across their degree.
Holywell Annexe: Amenities
Most Freshers, Second Year Students, and some later-year students live in the three blocks that compose the Holywell Annexe.
Rooms all have an en-suite bathroom which all contain a shower, and some with a bathtub as well. Rooms are also equipped with a single top-grade bed, large study desk, coffee table and chairs, multiple shelves and cupboards, and sometimes closets.
Built around the main Holywell Quad, each block contains a large fully-equipped kitchen in the basement, as well as smaller kitchenettes on each floor. Laundry facilities and bicycle storage are also located on-site.
In the basement of A-Block, the largest bloc, is the KCR (Kristofferson Common Room), an additional Graduate Common Room supplied with a baby grand piano, billiards table, board games, a television, films and gaming consoles. Along the same corridor is the Holywell Computer Room where students have access to a couple of desktops computers and an office printer, scanner and copier.
